The Friends will be holding their next Tombola in the Richard Salt Unit Entrance by the lifts on Tuesday 1st March 2016 from 10am until 4pm. Over 100 Great Prizes are available to be won, 5 chances for £1.00. All proceeds go to benefit the patients and staff of Good Hope Hospital. If you are visiting the Hospital that day give the drum a spin and see if ‘Lady Luck’ smiles on you.
If you have an unwanted gift you would like to donate for our next Tombola please bring it along.
Gareth Shaw, the Ward Manager contacted us to ask if we could source a Record Player for the Ward. They already had a supply of vinyl records but nothing on which to play them. The Friends were delighted to help and purchased a suitable unit which was presented to Gareth and his team on Thursday last week. It is hoped that the patients will be able to select records themselves and play them on familiar equipment – something that is difficult to do with modern digital devices. The record player was presented by Elaine Coulthard, President of the Friends and Tom Webster the group Treasurer.
Today the friends held a very successful Tombola in the Richard Salt Unit with over 70 prizes being won. Many thanks to the Patients, Visitors and Staff who bought tickets. The funds raised will go towards the purchase of much needed equipment for the benefit of patients at the hospital. We would also thank the HEFT fundraising team for their help and support.
This Friday the Friends of Good Hope are holding a launch event in the Treatment Centre and hope to meet Visitors, Carer’s and Staff who use the facility. We plan to run a number of activities including a bric-à-brac stall. If you have a few hours a week to space and want to be involved with a group of like-minded people come along and talk to us – you will be most welcome
